A family who loves firearms and freedom
Instructors, Staff and Owners at River Valley Arms & Ammo
At River Valley Arms & Ammo, we’re a family (the loud, slightly chaotic kind that you probably want to have some alcohol with at the next family gathering) with a love for firearms and freedom. Our team is dedicated to making sure you’re equipped with the best gear, training, and support you need for anything from hunting season to self-defense. Every face here brings a story, a passion for the Second Amendment, and maybe a bit of gunpowder on their clothes.
Meet the Instructors
At River Valley Arms & Ammo, our instructors are the real deal—passionate, experienced, and just a little obsessed with what they do. These aren’t your average “follow-the-manual” types; they’re hunters, competition shooters, and certified badasses who’ve spent years perfecting their craft. Whether they’re helping you nail your first bullseye, prepping you for a hunt, or coaching you to dominate at the range, they bring their A-game every single time. They love what they do, and it shows—because teaching others to crush it with a firearm isn’t just a job, it’s their calling.
Meet the Shop Staff
At River Valley Arms & Ammo, our shop staff is more than just a team—they’re your partners in crime for all things firearms, hunting, and shooting sports. These folks know their stuff inside and out, and they’re here to make sure you walk out with exactly what you need (and maybe a few things you didn’t know you needed). Whether you’re shopping for your first firearm, stocking up on ammo, or just here to talk shop, our crew’s got the knowledge, personality, and sarcasm to make your visit unforgettable. Come meet the team and see why we’re not just a store—we’re your go-to gun-loving family.
Meet the Owners
At River Valley Arms & Ammo, the owners aren’t just the faces behind the shop—they’re the driving force behind everything we do. Born from a passion for hunting, shooting sports, and good old-fashioned outdoor adventure, they built this place to be a haven for folks who share that same love for the lifestyle. They’re not some corporate bigwigs; they’re down-to-earth, gun-loving enthusiasts who saw a need in the community and made it their mission to fill it. Swing by, and you’ll see that their dedication to serving sportsmen and women is as genuine as their stories about the ones that got away.

Meet Heather
– The OG Firearms Fanatic
Heather Koffler has been here since day one, teaming up with her dad and brother Zach to open River Valley Arms & Ammo back in 2013. If you’ve met Heather, you know she’s as serious about your Second Amendment rights as she is about good coffee and better hunting stories. Heather’s been hooked on firearms since she bagged her first deer at 12 years old – and yes, she’s still searching for that elusive “favorite gun.” Until she finds it, she’ll keep searching for it during her bath time shopping sprees.
Meet Becky
– Conqueror of Fears, Lover of Firearms
Becky Bruns is one of the newest co-owners but no stranger to the shop. A few years back, Becky decided she was done being afraid of firearms, so she took it upon herself to face her fears and took Women Only Weekend. Her Sig Sauer Legion 320 holds a special place in her heart as her first “treat yourself” gun, but her favorite thing? Running the Women Only Weekend, where she gets to help women feel empowered and comfortable around firearms.
Meet Marcel
– The Law-Enforcement-Instructor-Guy
Marcel Krueger joined our ranks to round out the ownership team with a background in target shooting, hunting, and a lengthy instructor career from his law enforcement days. Marcel’s all about learning, and you’ll catch him at our training events – especially our big annual Tim Herron training week. Ask him to pick a favorite gun, and he’ll just laugh; he says they all have a purpose (and honestly, we can’t argue with that).
Meet Zach
– The Strong, Silent Type (Literally)
Zach Anderson, Heather’s brother and OG co-founder, is our resident silent partner. He’s now based out of state, so while he’s not here to play with guns every day, he’s still part of the RVAA family. His top pick? The Smith & Wesson 340PD – lightweight, concealable, and as Zach puts it, “makes you feel safe and warm and fuzzy inside.”
Whatever your experience level,
We’ll guide you every step of the way.
We may be small, but we know how to make things happen! From your first firearm purchase to advanced trainings, we’ll take care of you.
