New Course Offering! Intro to Defensive Handgun

We’re excited to offer a new course through RVAA, Intro to Defensive Handgun!

If you have your permit to carry or you’re considering getting your permit to carry, this class is for you.  Developing your defensive handgun skills are a necessity to protect yourself and your family.  Ensure that you’re doing it safely and efficiently by taking this course.  

This course is a 6 hour course that includes but is not limited to: grip, stance, trigger control, draws, hard front site, hard target focus, point shooting, reloading (administrative, emergency, tactical, and retention), barricades, movement and multiple targets.

The first Intro to Defensive Handgun course will be offered on Sunday, September 7th at 10am.  We’ll meet out at the Redwood Falls Sportsmen’s Club.

Required equipment:

  1. Defensive handgun (.22 and magnum calibers are discouraged)
  2. Quality holster – either outside the waistband or inside the waistband is acceptable.
  3. Cover/concealment garment – jacket, vest, etc
  4. 300 rounds of ammunition
  5. Minimum of 2 magazines – 3 or more are strongly encouraged
  6. Eye & ear protection

This course is not for beginner shooters.  Practice in the safe use of a pistol is required.  If you are unsure whether you are qualified to take the course, please contact Marcel at 320-522-2099 or Heather at 701-388-8659.

Zach Anderson

Zach is an owner here at River Valley Arms & Ammo. He’s a self proclaimed freak when it comes to personal protection.  He believe that everyone has the right to protect themselves and that carrying a firearm is a great step towards self protection.  He grew up around firearms and started hunting with his Dad when he was young. 

Zach is a NRA Certified Instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer, Minnesota DNR Firearm Safety Instructor and a MN Permit to Carry Instructor. 

Marcel Krueger

Marcel Krueger is an instructor at River Valley Arms & Ammo.  He is a Police Officer with over 7 years experience in Law Enforcement.  Marcel is also trained as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and works full time on an Ambulance Service. 
 
His training background has come from a variety of firearms, personal defense, and  Use of Force programs. Marcel is a Law Enforcement Instructor in the Use of Deadly Force and Defensive Tactics as well as Police Handgun, Shotgun and Patrol Rifle Firearms Instructor. Marcel is also a Instructor in Police Response to an Active Shooter.
 
Along with  the Law Enforcement training Marcel is certified from the State of Minnesota to teach the MN Permit to Carry Class requirements.  He is a strong proponent in the Right of self defense and believes everyone should train to defend themselves and their family.
