Support Your Local Sportsman’s Club
Like almost all things, to be great (or even proficient) at something requires practice. When it comes to firearms, there are many factors in choosing or creating a practice space.
At River Valley Arms & Ammo, we love supporting responsible firearm owners. Part of being a responsible firearm owner is supporting gun-owner rights and being proficient in the safe use of firearms. Proficiency in the safe use of firearms requires practice.
When you’re looking for a practice space, you essentially have two options; create your own or go to an established facility. Creating your own space requires a lot of careful planning and investment of time and money. This is why I’m an advocate for supporting your local sportsman’s clubs.
The local sportsman’s clubs are usually able to offer the space for a small annual fee, giving you the ability to become great. You don’t have to buy the land. You don’t have to move the dirt. You don’t even have to mow the lawn. You just get to shoot stuff for fun. Now that’s what I call a win-win.
The Redwood Falls Sportsman’s Club is an excellent place to get your shoot on. Our home-town range sports the full spectrum; rifle, shotgun and handgun spaces.
The rifle space consists of two 50 yard rifle benches, two 100 yard rifle benches, one 150 yard bench and one 200 yard bench.
The shotgun space consists of a well-kept trap range.
The handgun space consists of a variety of steel plates.
All-in-all, it’s worth the $32 a year to be able to come out and utilize this beautiful range we have locally. You can purchase your membership by contacting the range (see the picture below with the details) or stop out to River Valley Arms & Ammo.
Another notable point is our home town sportsman’s club also supports local youth activities like 4-H and Boy Scouts. The board works hard to maintain a facility where shooting enthusiasts of all ages can come to expand their horizons and enjoy themselves.
