MN DNR Youth Firearm Safety Field Day
It’s that time of year! We’re gearing up for the big hunting season and we know lots of you are too! We’ve received several messages about having a Field Day for kids that would like to hunt this year and haven’t had a chance to get in to finish up their field day. That’s why we will be offering a MN DNR Youth Firearm Safety Field Day coming up on Sunday, October 25th at noon out at the Redwood Falls Sportsmen’s Club.
This is a Field Day for the MN DNR Youth Firearm Safety Class. That means students need to have completed the online course prior to attending the field day. If you haven’t taken the online course yet, you can do that here. Please bring along the certificate you get from completing the online course.
The Redwood Falls Sportsmen’s Club is an outdoor range, please dress appropriately for the weather. Students will go through several stations that involve a practical review of the material covered in the online course. One of the stations is the shooting qualifier. Students will shoot from the prone (laying down) position. All required materials are provided. The only thing you need to bring along is the certificate you get from completing the online course.
For more information on the MN DNR Youth Firearm Safety course, please visit the DNR website. To register for the course, contact Heather Koffler at 701-388-8659 or by email at heather@rivervalleyarms.com. Space is limited.
