Learn self defense in this hands on class at River Valley Arms & Ammo in Morton, MN! This 5 hour course is an advancement to our Intro to Personal Defense and contains both discussion and hands-on learning. 

Cost

Cost is $100. A $20 deposit is required to register; remainder due the day of class. 

About the Course

The class will contain two sections; discussion and hands on. In the discussion section, students will learn the importance of and how to practice situational awareness as well as address any personal defense concerns. This is tailored to each class and the students in the class. Bring your questions and concerns for discussion. The discussion portion will also include a statute review regarding when you are able to deploy the tactics you will learn in the course. 

In the hands-on portion of the course, several defensive tactics will be covered including but not limited to: pressure points, overall body mobility and how to utilize that to your benefit in a defensive situation, choke holds, tactics for escaping choke holds, ground wrestling and control tactics.

What to Bring

This is a hands on class; there will be contact between students. Wear comfortable clothing you can exercise in and bring a water bottle. 

Meet the Instructor

Colby Davis has been a law enforcement professional since 2016. He maintains credentials including law enforcement firearms instructor, law enforcement tazer instructor, law enforcement use of force instructor, BCA certified MN permit to carry instructor, NRA certified instructor and is also a nationally registered EMT. Colby has a passion for helping people understand how they can protect themselves and enjoys teaching students new skills.
