SUMMARY:All Day Match Skills Clinic with Tim Herron and AJ Zito
DESCRIPTION:All Day Match Clinic  \nDescription: This is a unique experience which combines training with an actual match experience. This class is designed to help overcome the gap that sometimes occurs between your training and your actual match performance\, and is essential in helping to identify and correct those habits that only seem to occur “on the clock.” Here’s how it’ll go: \n  \nIn this specialized small group class\, we zero in on student discussed deficiencies that are holding them back from realizing their true potential: \n1.Shoot stage/s to assess and identify strengths and deficiencies of students \n2.Stage breakdown and things to analyze for max efficiency (counting steps/measuring distance\, reducing transition distances\, maximizing points\, are you crossing paths/arrays multiple times)\, tips for memory stages \n3.Maximizing position entries and exits \n4.Confidence on difficult targets (where to aim\, what to look for) \n5.Transitions and throttle control  \n6.Diagnosis: grip deficiencies\, visual patience\, shot calling\, movement  (Why do we miss? Why didn’t we see it? Why am I overrunning positions? \n7.Understanding balance of accuracy/points/speed \n8.How to take stage/match fragments and turn them into purposeful practice drills \nThis class is for shooters/students that have a pretty firm grasp on shooting fundamentals and are looking to improve their stage/match performance with in-depth analysis and understanding of the smaller considerations often overlooked.  \nThere is a lot of exploration and experimentation from the group to answer questions to discover what works and why. \nEquipment needed: \n400rds ammunition \nReliable pistol \nAt least 3 magazines \nHolster and mag pouches \nSafety equipment (Eye pro/Hearing pro) \nRange bag/gear needed for a day at range \nRelevant weather related gear (rain gear\, umbrella\, sunscreen\, hat\, jacket\, gloves\, etc…prepare for any weather) \nCost $425 ($100 discount if taken with 2-Day Practical Performance class) $100 deposit required upon registration\, balance due day of class. \n  \nThis is a looooong day. Bring your a-game\, food\, water\, a good attitude (optional)\, and note taking equipment. \n

SUMMARY:2-day Practical Performance Class with Tim Herron and Aj Zito
DESCRIPTION:Space allowing\, we will set up a full stage\, for students to run through at the beginning of class. The stage will include a number of elements such as entries and exits\, opportunities to shoot on the move\, awkward positions\, close and far targets\, and high risk arrays. This first run through will be an assessment tool\, helping the instructor to figure out your shooting style and where improvements can be made. Throughout the class we will occasionally revisit this stage\, and use parts of it to isolate and develop skills\, and set up drills. \nClasses consist of 10-14 students\, and are two days long. Classes are focused on the practical shooting skills that will help you more confidently plan\, tackle\, and shave time from your performance with a pistol. While this class does contain some advanced fundamentals\, the class is dynamic and stage oriented. The class also includes a day of “firing line” type fundamentals training\, however we wont burn through ammo like a regular class. Therefore\, the round counts are bit lower than what you might have seen at traditional 2-day classes in the past – we will make them count. I am a firm believer that when it comes to proper practice\, quality is much more important than quantity\, so this class will also cover principles of efficient practice\, and how to structure your practices to identify and address your weaknesses.  \n \nIn addition\, we’ll be covering: \nDay 1 \n1. Assessment of current skill of students \n2. Group shooting and untimed accuracy \n3. Concepts of grip/hand placement and position on the pistol and applied pressures \n4. Understanding sight management \n5. Diagnosing grip and triggering issues \n6. One handed SHO/WHO shooting concepts \n7. Dry fire skills and techniques for improvement \n8. Managing mental and emotional pressure \n9. Sight deviation and sight anchoring (what it is and it’s advantage of accuracy at speed) \n10. Shot calling (understanding and mastery) \nDay 2 \n \n1. Multiple targets and transitions (building efficiency) \n2. Throttle control and its application \n3. Entries/Exits \n4. Importance of having gun up ready to shoot ALWAYS \n5. Barrel Drill \n6. Stage planning (visualization\, self talk) \n7. Stage shooting and performance improvement and evaluation \nEquipment needed: \n700 rounds ammunition \nReliable pistol (consider a back up pistol as well) \nAt least 3 magazines \nHolster and mag pouches \nSafety equipment (eye protection/hearing protection) \nRange bag/gear needed for a day at the range \nRelevant weather related gear (rain gear\, umbrella\, sunscreen\, hat\, jacket\, gloves\, etc…prepare for any weather) \nLunch of hotdogs or hamburgers will be provided on the range\, otherwise feel free to bring a lunch \nClass cost: $675 per student ($100 discount on Match Skills Clinic on 05/29 if attending Practical Performance class) $100 deposit required upon registration
