We have a field day scheduled!!! Woo hoo!

We know a lot of you have been asking for us to offer the Minnesota DNR Firearm Safety Certificate class before hunting season, so, we went and got certified!  Thank you for being so patient!

As you may or may not know, you need the Firearm Safety Certificate to get a hunting license in the state of Minnesota if you were born after December 31st, 1979.  You must be at least 11 years old to take the course.

As Volunteer Instructors for the MN DNR, we are offering a field day coming up on Sunday, November 3rd.  Don’t panic, it’s not on deer opener!  (We wouldn’t do that to ourselves, I mean, we love you guys but that would be a pretty hard choice to give up deer opener to teach a class!)

Before the course you’ll need to do a few things:

  1. You’ll need to take the online course at http://www.huntercourse.com/usa/minnesota/?gclid=CMnXu9HP_bkCFcxAMgodzEoAZQ.
    1. Make sure you allow a few days to get this done because it takes some time to run through it (10 hours or so).  You are required to spend a certain amount of time on each page; it will not allow you to advance to the next page until you’ve spent that allocated amount of time on the current page.
    2. The course is $24.95 but you don’t pay anything until you complete the course.
    3. You’ll need to print the field day certificate at the end of the course.
  2. Contact Heather to register for the course:
    1. Call: 701-388-8659
    2. Email: heather@rivervalleyarms.com
    3. Stop out during open hours to the gun shop: Thursdays-Fridays 5p-8p & Saturdays 10a-5p
